Don’t you love this fabric? I originally bought it to make myself a much-needed apron and recently have given it up to make some bridal shower gifts. It is Michael Miller’s Put a Lid On It. I plan to add some of these kitchen towels to a kitchen basket with other kitchen supplies. (Here is a simple tutorial to my pretty hand towels and some homemade kitchen towels.)
I’ve spent a few of my nights lately cuddled in bed looking at fabric online. It is one of those extremely relaxing and inspiring hobbies. This collection of seashore fabrics (Timeless Treasures Coastal Beach) gets me excited for our late trip to the ocean this summer (September to be exact) and the crabs remind me of Rowan. My little baby will be one year old the beginning of October and we’ve started having conversations as a family as to what theme Rowan would want for his first birthday. So far it is crabs.
And the more we start thinking about September and October we start getting excited about the fall. And oh, this fall fabric says it all. This fabric reminds me of the little vintage pilgrim candles my mom has put out on our Thanksgiving table ever since I was a little girl.
I don’t need to buy new fabric to feel fulfilled. A little inspiration and planning can go a long way just from looking at it. I turn off the light at night and the fabric inspiring always finds its way into my dreams.
What about you? What do you like to do to be inspired/dream/look ahead??
