I haven’t spoken about my health for a while. For a few reasons.
I’m still battling the chronic stomach problems. Based on what I’ve researched it might be inflamed stomach lining or non-ulcer dyspepsia or some other ailment with very little solutions. It seems like the older I get, the longer it stays. And so I’ve gotten used to it, trying to live alongside it, letting it minimally affecting my days.
In January I was fed up and began experimenting more. I discovered my stomach hurts less with less in my stomach. So I try to graze during the day. Starchy things and grains (especially more than a small portion) bothers my stomach more. I try to limit grains and such during the day, especially as the day goes on. I’m learning how to listen to my body and can predict what will worsen my stomach.
Peppermint oil has become my best friend. When my stomach is more painful than normal, I rub a few drops right where the pain is. Immediately it takes the edge off.
On another note, I’ve been busy experimenting with many new body care recipes. This is the first time I’ve really worked with beeswax, cocoa butter, and such. I’m amazed with the incredible smell and taste of natural ingredients in making our family products. The book Organic Body Care Recipes: 175 Homemade Herbal Formulas for Glowing Skin and a Vibrant Self has proven exceptional in introducing me the wonders of many incredible ingredients.
