Good morning, friends.
I’m excited to share something different with you this morning. Have you heard of Kiwi Crate? Well, let me show you what it is…
You get a crate in the mail.
Inside the crate is everything you and your kids need for some pretty awesome projects. Each month its different. Projects dealing with art, science, nature–you name it. The crates can be delivered monthly or just once–whatever you prefer.
My girls and I were excited to get to review a Kiwi Crate. Ours came with everything above: tons of things to create two starlight lanterns and two collection boxes. It worked out perfectly–the twins made the lanterns and the older girls made the collection boxes.
Annabelle and Ainsleigh gathered all the supplies for the lanterns based on their project book of instruction. It had little pictures with the materials needed and step by step instruction which meant they were in charge.
They began by using the glow-in-the-dark star stickers to adhere the star punched paper (which they punched with the included punch) to the lantern. They both were so excited that they could do this all on their own!
The instructions were easy to understand and easy for them to follow. As they were able to see their lanterns come together they were so pleased! Especially when they put the little battery-operated tealight candle inside. We sneaked to the bathroom, closed the door, and cheered when we saw the light beaming through the little stars they punched out.
They have plans for their lanterns to join them on backyard campouts, late evening walks, and so forth. They turned out quite darling.
While I was spending time with Annabelle and Ainsleigh on their project, Johanna and Caroline were begging to work on theirs: individual collection boxes.
I really liked how everything you needed to make each project was included, like nice jumbo crayons for the coloring of the boxes, for example.
The older girls did everything on their own for these collection boxes. They added the ribbon handle, the velcro closure, and the dividers for the inside. The girls loved decorating their boxes and coloring the stickers that came with each box. The project came with a variety of inserts for inside of the box. There was an insert for collecting things based on color, shape, and so on.
Both girls started with the collect by color insert.
And they did such an incredible job collecting! Outside they ran once their collection boxes were complete and they began filling it. Things from the garden, things from the trees, you name it.
They brought their boxes along with them later that day for more collecting but from different locations.
They were quite proud and have loved using their collection boxes everywhere. So inventive!
I was really impressed with the projects, the quality supplies, and the fact that they send along extras of certain supplies just in case. Inside the crate (box) is even illustrated for kids to color and they sent along a little pack of playing cards–just for fun!
Check out their crates–I just saw that this month’s crate is a modern art crate where you build a three-dimensional Calder-style mobile, paint a Mondrian-inspired canvas, and create a mini gallery with display labels and a wooden easel. Each crate is so cool.
Some of the past crates that look really interesting are their Dinosaur digs and growing gardens. You can even buy these past crates with their unique themes individually like the fairy fun, medieval fun, shadow and light, and so forth.
I know with our large family you can add siblings to the crate (like our crate we received) so everyone has a project to do. You can choose to get one crate or monthly crates. I couldn’t help but think while we opened the box together and did each project how perfect this would be for grandparents to do with grandchildren when they come over or for grandparents to gift to their grandchildren. The best part of all is that you can get a free trial crate to try out–just pay $3.95 shipping!
I absolutely love the crates! I’m even more excited to have Kiwi Crates as the newest Sleepy Time Gal sponsor! I hope you take a minute and checkout their beautiful company. It has been a blast to get to know Kiwi.
