A boy with four sisters definitely needs his own doll. A doll he can carry in his arms, drag through the house, and one to sit in the doll highchair for Rowan’s daily cuisine.
A boy in this household definitely needs a doll.
Mini Rowan is Rowan’s new birthday friend.
With blue eyes and blond hair, he fits perfectly into Rowan’s arms and heart. I have loved watching their friendship blossom over the past few days.
Other gifts were made and given by big sisters on his birthday. Colored trains, cardboard car garages for his cars, and random trinkets wrapped with so much paper, tape, and love that the givers were bursting at the seams watching Rowan open them.
And with the challenge of Rowan not caring for cakes, cupcakes, and other such confections (definitely not a female Shiffler’s trait), cookies were in order. The cookie recipe is an excellent almond flour “sugar” cookie recipe sweetened with honey. It tastes incredibly flavorful. Although I was sick last week (as I still am now, darn it!), I loved turning out of bed early the morning of his big train day to finish icing his special train cookies before the sun had risen and anyone kids were awake.
That’s what moms are for, right?
And even better yet, he loved his train cookies. (I was crossing my fingers!)
So here’s to the little toddler that continues to steal my heart in so many ways. I never knew I would love a little boy so much. Seriously. I could not understand before he was born how I would relate and know how to nurture a child so different than me and my daughters.
With all of his growling like animals, “cooking” play dough in his play kitchen, pushing trucks around the floor and on his sisters legs, a blond little toddler boy full od energy and life is absolute perfection.
Happy birthday little Row-Boy. You are loved by many.
I love reminiscing… Here’s Rowans first birthday with family, crab style.
